More and more children are being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which is a neuro-behavior-nutritional disorder. This disorder can impact every single area of a child's life. Sometimes the disorder is more severe, while other times children only have a slight case of it. Even children with a slight case of ADHD can be completely thrown off and this can impact their entire day. Focusing and organization tends to be a problem for many ADHD children. When a child is not able to focus in school for one minute, even, the rest of the day can be interrupted. For example, if a child misses a section of what a teacher is saying because their attention was taken away by a child going to the pencil sharpener, they get lost to what the entire lesson was about. Or, if they cannot find a pencil between classes, they are late to their next class. This is frustrating and can affect the rest of their day, as they begin to feel they cannot get anything right.

The problem many parents face is whether to medicate or not. This is an agonizing decision for most parents with ADHD children. In my case, I could not stand the idea of giving my child these drugs. My child is now in 7th grade. In 2nd grade, he started to get very bad grades, which gave him a low self-esteem. I knew I had to do something. Reluctantly, we tried the medications and they worked for a few months. He then started showing signs of depression and bad grades again. I tried another medication, and he went from A's to F's in one week. We stopped meds and he was managing. Once he hit 6th grade, all things changed. Severe depression set in because he could not get a grasp on things. He is such a smart and sweet child. However, he has a hard time being organized and focusing. I tried the meds again. The same exact thing happened. They worked for a while and then he had bad symptoms. I am not against medications for ADHD, however, in my son's case, his body could not take the ADHD medications. I truly feel that some ADHD children can benefit from these medications.

However, my son was not one of them. I had to find other ways to help him, as doing nothing was not an option. I told him that we would have to find other ways to help him and that it may take more work on his part, but I would help him however I could. I found that coming up with a system works wonders. It could be something as small as putting a pencil bag in his Literature folder. Simply doing this eliminated him getting a tardy for having to go back to the locker to get a pencil. I also looked into some supplements that are supposed to help people with focusing issues. There are also some tips to help you help your child with ADHD. In my opinion yes. Maybe not in all cases, but I would guess in something like 90% of them. This I would say from first-hand experience as someone who once suffered from demonic possession. I am a former NPR news reporter and now a writer and author. As you join me in reading my article, you are sitting in a realm inhabited by the demonic and angelic. It's called the supernatural. You are probably shielded from seeing into this realm surrounding our earth realm. Shielded in God's mercy because if we could see what some of the demons look like that hover over us trying to afflict us or direct our paths, we would flee in terror and not be able to get through our days.

I was first educated at Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. I became a news reporter at a commercial radio station, then at an NPR affiliate where I worked in radio and television. Later I went to Los Angeles as an entertainment reporter. Journalists are taught by professors and news editors to be cynical until they get the facts. In my hard-news reporting I had to interview preferably several sources to get the facts, before I broadcast a story or wrote an article. In my own personal battle with alcohol, drugs (cocaine) and manic depression, I had a number of showdowns with the supernatural, most of which horrified me. I believe it was hard evidence that something demonic was happening. After much research, I came to the conclusion that something certifiably demonic was at the source of my battles with mental illness and addictions. This disorder cannot be ignored. You must take a stand and find a way to help your child. Sometimes, you are lucky enough to get a teacher that will help. However, many times, teachers simply are not able to help the way your child needs, and then there are teachers who simply do not care. It is up to you to be your child's advocate. Always be on your child's side.
